2010 Australian Camp Oven Festival – 2nd &3rd October
If present bookings are any indication the Australian Camp Oven Festival is looking like it will be another successful event. The organisers have built on the success of the last festival which saw them named as a finalist at the Tourism Queensland Events and Festival tourism awards.
Buddy Thomson has been engaged once again to organise the music programme for the weekend. Artists include: Graham Rodger, multi award winning singer / songwriter and touring performer, Stuart Watson, member of the gold guitar winning band Bullamakanka and Slim Dusty’s touring band, Natalie Foley, singer / songwriter and recording artist of contemporary country music, Sharon Smith, A.B.B.A Star Quest winner Tamworth in 2009, and that is to name just a few! The Saturday night band is “Uncle Bob’s Jug Band” and they are sure to play some of your favourite songs in their unique style.
The Poet’s breakfast is so popular that it is once again being held on both mornings of the festival. Poet Gary Fogarty has organised a great line up once again with some very funny and popular poets.
Of course the D.A Hall & Co. Camp Oven Cooking Competition is sure to be popular again and this year we’ve added a beginner competition for those who are learning the finer points of competition cooking. The apron competition has also added a new section which is available to campers in the week leading up to the festival. The ever popular damper throwing and billy boiling are returning, and we are currently working on introducing a fun new competition too.
Check out our Website: www.australiancampovenfestival.com.au or you can phone 0429 727 503 for general information. Camping enquiries and bookings can be directed to Jim on 0427 957 176.
