In January the A.B.B.A. celebrates 10 years as an Association and every year the Association continues to bring the members and supporters excellent bush ballad and variety shows at the “Balladeers Homestead”. FROG & TOAD FUNCTION CENTRE – TAMWORTH FESTIVAL

The Frog and Toad Function Centre situated on Goonoo Goonoo Road, Tamworth is the place to be during the 2010 Tamworth Country Music Festival. There will be 5 days packed full of entertainment on offer with a wide variety of showcases being presented to meet the musical tastes of anyone who likes their music “Country”. Where Country Began – Monday 18th January – 10am
If you are a fan of the great old time country music and the artists that crafted the classics and famous country sounds we all love, then this is a show you should not miss. Some great Aussie artists sing for you their favourite songs by artists such as The Carter Family, Jimmie Rodgers, Tex Morton, Hank Williams, Buddy Williams, Gene Autry and many more. Featuring Bill Chambers, Jeff Brown, Sandra Humphries, Dean Perrett, The Coad Sisters & Jim Hermel, Peter Pratt and Sarah McMonagle. This is a show of real old time country. Laugh & Sing with Laura Downing – Monday 18th January – 3pm
After just completing her 6th Album, Laura Downing will be performing at the Frog and Toad venue for one show only on the 18th of January. “How Blue" will be on sale throughout the festival along with 2 DVD's of side-splitting comedy, singing and yodelling. This multi award winning entertainer will sing and yodel to you from 3pm to 6pm along with a few good yarns. Tickets $15 for adults, available at the door.

Bush Ballads Australia – Monday 18th January – 8pm
Bush Ballads Australia presents Keith Jamieson, Alisha Smith and Caitlyn Jane together with some great country music friends, including Reg Poole, OAM and around Australia touring partner of Keith and Alisha, also featuring Sharon Smith, 2009 Balladeer Star Quest winner and Bec Hance, 2009 Finalist Balladeer Star Quest. Also appearing will be Ginger and Francis Cox, the Kimberly Pickers and mates of Keith and Alisha and Jay Messenger, a young man making a name for himself with the bush ballad style Guitar picking. Two Old Mates Show – Tuesday 19th January – 10am
An established show that people look forward to at the Frog & Toad each year is when good mates Dean Perrett & Jeff Brown get together for their Two Old Mates Show. A show with Dean & Jeff performing the great songs you know them for, then getting together on stage to sing some of their favourite numbers that they enjoy singing together. This show is always a highlight for fans of traditional country music. Talented guitarist Ricky Shipp will also be there to add his magical touch too their songs. Anita Ree & Friends – Tuesday 19th January - 3pm
The Anita Ree Show at the Frog and Toad will feature very special guests including Golden Guitar winner Rex Dallas along with Matt Manning, Dan Manning and Sheree Innes. This show will also be the official launch of the new DVD from Anita!! We will also be featuring ‘The Kids of Aussie Country’. All Children are welcome to come and join in the singing and entry for children is free. Owen Blundell Show with Special Guests – Tuesday 19th January – 8pm and also Thursday 21st January – 8pm
Owen Blundell presents two of his own shows at the Tamworth Festival featuring Frankie J Spencer and Special Guests. Owen is a very versatile country music performer having traveled much of the Australian countryside during his long career. He has been a Golden Guitar finalist six times, not yet cracking that magic combination. Be sure not to miss his two shows at the Frog & Toad which are bound to be something special. Two Aussie Legends – Wednesday 20th January - 10am
Ted Egan & Norma O’Hara Murphy present a smorgasbord of wonderful Australian songs, stories as only they can tell. These two outstanding songwriters will take you on a journey you will never forget, from the red dust of the Alice, and the powerful songs of pearl diving, to the rodeo arena’s and the riverboats, and beyond. Strangely enough both Norma & Ted have been off the scene for several years. Both for very different reasons, but both are back, with new albums in the pipeline. Jeff Brown Show featuring Ricky Shipp – Wednesday 20th January at 3pm and also Friday 22nd January at 3pm
Golden Guitar winner Jeff Brown will bring to Tamworth his well established touring show including talented guitarist Ricky Shipp and on bass guitar Jim Strohfeld. Performing two of his own concerts at the Frog and Toad during the Tamworth Festival, Jeff will deliver your favourite Bush Ballads, trucking songs and songs about life on the land. Michelle Little Does Cow Jazz – Wednesday 20th January – 8pm
Michelle Little presents “A vocally driven blend of rootsy country blues, western swing and rockabilly.” Following her success with her stage show “Michelle Little Sings the Songs of Patsy Cline” at the 2009 Tamworth Festival, Michelle Little returns with a show that will once again showcase her great talent. Bush Ballads Australia – Thursday 21st January – 10am
Bush Ballads Australia presents Dianne Lindsay and Peter Simpson, Dinki Di in everyway and an easy listening Duo, along with Keith Jamieson and Alisha Smith, with a fair dinkum ballad sound. Supported by Sharon Smith, Balladeer Star Quest winner in 2009 and Bec Hance, 2009 Finalist of the Balladeer Star Quest. Special guest will be Cousin Dipstick arriving by Camel from Oodnadatta. The Showman & The Lady Variety Show – Thursday 21st January – 3pm
The Showman and The Lady Country Music Show featuring Yodelling Pete Smith and Lana Ross. This Old Time Country Show includes Bush Ballads, Whip Cracking, Comedy, Yodelling, Bird Whistling, Original Compositions, Gospel and Evergreen Favorites of Country Music. The Story Tellers Show – Friday 22nd January – 10am
Dean Perrett and Peter Pratt bring country music lovers a show with a difference. Dean with his Bush Ballad style of storytelling, and Peter with his unique blend of western ballads and crooning which he has blended into his own song writing. Of recent years Dean and Peter have taken their show on the road in a successful touring format and the show has proved to be one of the most successful touring country music shows in Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
